A few months ago we were thinking and acting like Covid would be a blip on our business radar - an inconvenient disruption that we would need to live through and then recover and rebuild. But like most disruptions - we don’t see them coming and then we don’t see them ending.
Now that we are a few months into this pandemic, it is becoming clear that we need to find new ways to live, work and grow. We need a new approach to being future focused even while we live through, cope and emerge from Covid.
In a recent report from Karina Marcar at
Brabourne, it was revealed that business governance, operational settings and talent/people are all under pressure. On the surface this is unsurprising, but the report, built on interviews with company directors in the US, UK and Australia show that there are significant gaps that require immediate and short term attention, including:
- Purpose and values emerge as strategic governance tools
- New perspectives on risk and data are required to support decision making
- Bench strength and resilience at staff, management and board levels need attention and support
- Greater level of comfort with accelerating business innovation in the face of change.
With these points in mind, we are hosting the next in our “New Ways” series of webinars - this time on
generating strategy. We’ll be covering these key points and more with our distinguished panel. Be sure to book early.
